Proud to be a part of
Children First Academy Trust

We thrive and achieve together.

Sharing Our Practice

At Wilbury we are committed to working with others and sharing our excellent practice, across our Trust, Enfield, London and nationally. We do this in many ways, some examples below ...

DfE RISE

We are delighted and proud that Wilbury Primary School has been selected to take part in the London RISE Open Schools Fortnight, a pan-London initiative led by the Department for Education that brings schools together to share strong and effective practice.  Wilbury events showcase our exemplary Reception and EYFS practice, which combines securing strong foundations and the very best early years practice, with language development and high quality adult-child interactions central to everything we do.

Dfe / RISE video

As part of our work with Dfe/RISE we also created a video about our successful approach to language development in Reception. This has been shared across London boroughs.

Text Savvy (EEF/Enfield)

We are working with the EEF and Enfield Local authority as part of a project on  developing reading in KS2 and KS3 across the borough. This evidence based programme aims to address disadvantage and improve children's life chances, through improving the quality of teaching reading.

Enfield Writing Conference

We were proud to showcase our sentence-based writing curriculum (Reception to Year 6), based on high quality diverse texts, with other schools, at the Enfield Writing conference.

Early Excellence Leadership Conference (National)

We shared our exceptional work on our EYFS curriculum at the Early Excellence Leadership Conference. We presented to schools from around the country on our concept based curriculum, which links clearly to KS1 and beyond, while maintaining an authentic early years approach.

We are proud to have articles included in the 'Addressing Disadvantage in Enfield Schools' publication from Enfield Council.
