Spring Term
The children have settled back into school well and are ready to learn. They have been actively engaged in learning new mathematical concepts, such as making numbers up to 5 and understanding that numbers are part of a whole. As the spring term progresses, the children will continue to develop their number knowledge, begin exploring addition and subtraction through practical activities, and apply their maths skills in everyday situations.
They are doing extremely well in phonics, growing in confidence with recognising sounds, blending to read words, and beginning to write simple words and sentences. The children will also continue to develop their fine motor skills, independence, and confidence in expressing their ideas through speaking, writing, and creative activities. They are very enthusiastic and look forward to starting PE this half term, where they will further develop their physical skills, coordination, and teamwork.
Autumn Term
The children in Reception have settled in beautifully and are now well into their daily routine. They have shown themselves to be enthusiastic learners and curious explorers, eager to engage with the world around them. It has been wonderful to see them building strong relationships with both their peers and the adults in our setting. The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning and playing in both our indoor and outdoor environments.
