Context
Welcome to Wilbury Primary School
Wilbury Primary School is a vibrant, welcoming and happy school where children are at the heart of everything we do. We have a dedicated and highly skilled staff team who are committed to ensuring that every child feels valued, supported and inspired to achieve their very best.
As a large three-form entry primary school in Edmonton, North London, we provide education and care for children from the age of two through to Year 6. We are proud of our diverse community, with many of our pupils speaking English as an Additional Language and bringing a wealth of cultures, languages and experiences to our school family.
Helping Every Child Succeed
We know that children arrive at school with different starting points and experiences. Many of our pupils begin their educational journey with developing language skills, so supporting communication, language and literacy is a key priority from the very earliest years.
We place a strong emphasis on:
- Developing rich vocabulary
- Encouraging confident speaking and listening skills
- Creating enthusiastic and capable readers
- Building strong foundations for future learning
Through high-quality teaching, carefully planned support and targeted interventions, we ensure that every child receives the help they need to thrive.
Our Curriculum: Creating Opportunities
At Wilbury, we believe that education transforms lives. Our ambitious and knowledge-rich curriculum is designed to provide children with the skills, understanding and experiences they need to succeed both now and in the future.
We want every child to develop:
- A love of learning
- Strong academic knowledge and skills
- Confidence and resilience
- Aspiration for their future
By providing a broad range of opportunities and experiences, we help our pupils develop the cultural capital and confidence needed to flourish in modern Britain and beyond.
Inclusion at the Heart of Our School
We are proud to be an inclusive school where every child belongs. We work closely with families to ensure that all children receive the support they need, regardless of their background or individual needs.
Our staff understand the challenges that some families may face and are committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed. We have high expectations for all pupils and a strong belief that every child can achieve.
Excellent Teaching and Support
Our experienced leadership team works closely with staff to ensure the highest quality of education. Teachers and support staff collaborate regularly to share best practice, plan engaging lessons and continually develop their skills.
This culture of teamwork and professional development means that children benefit from high-quality teaching across the school and a learning environment where they are encouraged to challenge themselves, take risks and achieve more than they thought possible.
Achieving Success
We are extremely proud of our pupils' achievements. Children at Wilbury consistently perform well in national assessments, including:
- Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (Reception)
- Year 1 Phonics Screening Check
- Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check
- Key Stage 2 SATs
Our results are consistently above national averages, reflecting the hard work of our pupils, staff and families working together in partnership.
Working Together
We believe that strong relationships between home and school are vital to children's success. By working closely with parents and carers, we create a supportive community where children feel safe, happy and ready to learn.
At Wilbury Primary School, we are ambitious for every child and committed to helping them become confident, successful learners who are ready for the next stage of their education and beyond.
