Welcome to the Year 3 page of the Wilbury Website. Below you will find information about what children in Year 3 will be learning through-out the year as well as some pictures and information about just some of our learning activities.

Autumn 

Maths

We are learning about adding and subtracting numbers up to 1000. We used dienes (or base 10) to help us.

Science 

In science, we are learning about forces. We did an experiment to get a paper clip out of a cup of water without getting our hands wet. We used a magnet, pencil and string to find different solutions to the problem.

Geography

In Geography we are learning about latitude and longitude. We used Digimaps for Schools, an online mapping program to help us. 

We have also been using atlases to help us locate cities using latitude and longitude.

RE

We are learning about how family life and festivals show what matters to Jewish people.

History

We are learning about the Stone Age. It is part of pre-history which means it happened before people wrote things down.

Art

We are learning about early drawings from the Stone Age.
